At Indian Hill, we are committed to protecting student data privacy. Ohio Senate Bill 29 strengthens these protections by requiring strict Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs) between schools and technology providers. These agreements ensure that:
- Student Data Ownership: Schools retain control over educational records.
- Limited Access: Only authorized personnel can access student data for approved purposes.
- No Selling or Misuse: Student data cannot be sold or shared for commercial use.
- Secure Data Disposal: Providers must delete or return student data when contracts end.
Additionally, schools must notify parents annually about technology providers handling student data and ensure transparency in monitoring school-issued devices. This notification is part of our annual consent and notification forms in Final Forms.
