We moved to the district over 10 years ago after living abroad for about 20 years. We are a bit of an international family with my wife Akiko born in Japan, Hannah (17) born in London, and Kai (14) born in Geneva. Hannah is now a senior at Indian Hill High School and Kai is a sophomore. We enjoy the Indian Hill community and often enjoy walking and tennis at Stephen Field and hiking at the Grand Valley Preserve and bicycling on the Little Miami Bike Trail. We also love cross country and soccer.
When I think of what it means to be a Brave, I often think of the students. The students have many opportunities at the Indian Hill School District, whether it is sports, theater/arts, and clubs. Students can try many of these and find the path that fits them.
To me, the #IHPromise denotes the child as a Learner AND Doer. The Indian Hill School District has fantastic staff, teachers, and coaches, and the students learn in classrooms AND by participating and being active.
The IH Boosters are a non-profit organization that provides additional support to athletics, arts/theater, and clubs in the Indian Hill School District serving grades K-12. Whether it is helping fund pre-game meals, or theater program brochures, or providing vans to help provide transportation for the Latin Club, the Boosters provide a plethora of additional support above and beyond district funding. Booster membership provides admittance to all athletic league home games and free tickets to an Indian Hill Middle School or Indian Hill High School theater event.
Also, new this year, Booster membership provides access to theater tickets before they open up to the public.
The Boosters have a volunteer Board of about a dozen members that help coordinate all Booster efforts and can be seen at the Booster Bash (first home football game), Youth Nights, and many other games or events. The Boosters also run the Bravesline on-line and physical store (next to Indian Hill High School) that can outfit the family in the latest IH Braves kit. I hope every family in the district signs up for an IH Boosters Membership and can see how their dollars help create an incredible environment for every IH Student.
