Indian Hill High School students dedicate a day to service

IHHS Junior Day of Service

From working outside to packing food, Indian Hill High School Junior Day 2022 was a lesson in giving back.

All 180 members of the junior class spent Thursday, September 29 volunteering at six Cincinnati-area nonprofit organizations. The locations included: Matthew 25: Ministries, La Soupe, Mercy Ministries, Greenacres Foundation, Stepping Stones, and the Freestore Foodbank.

“This was the first year we have dedicated a single day to volunteer work, and it was a tremendous experience,” said Indian Hill High School Principal Jeff Damadeo. “I want to thank all members of our incredible team who organized this outstanding event.”

At Indian Hill High School, service learning is embedded within the curriculum. Students are required to complete 10 hours as freshmen, 10 hours as sophomores, 20 hours as juniors, and 20 hours as seniors.

“Service learning is integral to helping develop Learners as the Whole Child, which is one of the key focus areas in our #IHPromise strategic plan,” said Damadeo. “We are proud of all the students accomplished, and we look forward to seeing how this experience can evolve in the future.”
