Be Brave Be Kind$5,000 Scholarship grounded in gratitude |
Deep gratitude is a powerful motivation. The Morris Family Five Foundation, led by Heather and Kent Morris, established the Be Brave Be Kind scholarship in 2022. It was created in thanks for the kindness, care and compassion demonstrated by Lindsay Kearns, Susan Savage, Jeff Damadeo and all educators at IHSD.
The scholarship will be for one deserving graduating senior who goes above and beyond in demonstrating true kindness, compassion, care and empathy towards others. The scholarship committee will look for unsung heroes for whom this scholarship would make a meaningful difference. This is NOT need based. The selected student will recieve a one-time award of $5,000 to be used for college, trade school or military enlistment. The scholarship will be funded for a total of 10 years.
Nominations may be submitted by any individual working for the IH school district and submitted to the IH Foundation. Forms will be availalbe in January and due by March 15. The recipient will be chosen by the scholarship committee by May 1st and awarded at the IHHS Senior Celebration of Excellence. |

Creators Heather and Kent Morris state, "We established this scholarship to honor Susan Savage, Lindsay Kearns, Jeff Damadeo and all of the educators at Indian Hill who continually go above and beyond in the care, compassion and kindness they show to their IH students and families. We hope that because of their examples, this scholarship will inspire others to build not just their careers, but their lives around dedication to serving others through the same care, compassion and kindness.”
IHHS Principal Jeff Damadeo adds, "Our ‘WHY' will always be our students. To be a part of this scholarship is a tremendous honor, one that I know will continue to make an extraordinary impact on future Braves.”
This is truly an example of bold philanthropy for brave possibilities. Thank you, Morris family, for your vision and generosity. |
