‘Distinguished Educator’: Indian Hill CEO/Superintendent recognized

Kirk Koennecke

The Indian Hill School District celebrates the recognition of CEO/Superintendent Kirk Koennecke, recognized during a formal ceremony by John Carroll University as the 2023 Distinguished Educator on Thursday, April 27.

“I’m humbled to be recognized in this way by John Carroll University,” said Koennecke. “It has been my honor to serve students through my roles within public education for the past 27 years. My family, the educators I’m privileged to work with, and the educators who taught me, including the faculty at John Carroll, helped make me the person I am. I’ve wanted to help inspire our students of today in the same way.”

The Distinguished Educator Award recognizes members of the education community who exemplify the Department of Education’s mission to prepare students to teach and lead for a more just society in school and other settings. Koennecke received his Master of Science in Education degree from John Carroll University in 2005.
