The Indian Hill School District congratulates Indian Hill High School students Sophia Chen and Jackson Kaster for achieving third place in their Entrepreneurship Team event during the DECA International Career Development Conference. Chen and Kaster were two of seven students representing Indian Hill during the five-day trip in April to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, competing with more than 22,000 students from seven countries.

“This is the first time in nine years that an Indian Hill student has finished in the top three on the international stage,” said Indian Hill High School Teacher Phil Said, who serves as a DECA mentor and helps manage the marketing program in partnership with Great Oaks. “They competed against 190 teams to earn this award. Sophia also earned the highest test score in her event and the team earned the highest case study award in the preliminaries.”

Additionally, Indian Hill student Hollis Chan earned a top test score medal in the Marketing Communications Series event. Other Indian Hill students who made it to the international competition include: Conrad Bennett, Crisper Chabris, Jenna O'Driscoll, and Pranav Rastogi.
