The Indian Hill School District congratulates the Indian Hill Quiz Team for excellent success, advancing to nationals in the National Academic Quiz Tournament (NAQT). Indian Hill qualified for the Small School Nationals, which were held April 28-30, in Chicago. The team finished in 21st place behind the strong play of Indian Hill High School students Connor Coffman, Jacob Ruby, and Ethan Brown, who each ranked in the top 20 percent of all participants.

Additionally, Indian Hill students competed at the Ohio Academic Challenge (OAC). The OAC is played by schools of all sizes throughout Ohio; this culminates with a regional and state competition for qualifying teams. Indian Hill qualified for regionals, which were held April 15 at Little Miami High School and placed third, to narrowly miss qualifying for the state.

“Going into the championship tournaments, I knew our young team had improved since fall, but I wasn't sure how we'd do against older, more experienced teams,” said Indian Hill Quiz Team Coach Missy Hardy. “I am proud of the courage this team shows when competing. Thinking quickly while your heart is pounding with nerves is difficult, and these exceptionally bright kids are learning to do that. This group has incredible potential, and I am excited to help them achieve great results next year.”

Congratulations to the entire Indian Hill Quiz Team on a successful school year, including students, Ethan Brown, Vedant Buch, JC Chen, Connor Coffman (captain), Elijah Fanek, Andrew Hu, Jacob Ruby, and Derek Zee.

A special thanks to the Indian Hill Boosters for their generous support for the trip to nationals through an Innovation Grant, meant to enable growing programs to participate in culminating experiences like these.
