Indian Hill School District CEO/Superintendent Kirk Koennecke named national Superintendent of the Year

The Indian Hill School District congratulates CEO/Superintendent Kirk Koennecke for being named as the prestigious National Association of School Superintendents (NASS) 2023 Superintendent of the Year. NASS announced Koennecke’s selection on Thursday, December 12.

“Mr. Koennecke has served five years as a visionary, student-centered leader at Indian Hill, leading our Braves through a historic bond/operating levy, a global pandemic, a new strategic plan, and updates to facilities that will impact generations of Braves to come,” said Indian Hill Board of Education President Craig Sumerel. “We are extremely proud of not only the work he has done for our students, our parents, our staff, and our community, but also for this deserved accomplishment.”

“This honor is simply a reflection of amazing students working with awesome teachers, and a wonderful leadership team supported by a community and Board of Education that puts students at the center of our #IHPromise,” said Koennecke. “I’m humbled by the selection, and appreciative of the dedication by our entire Indian Hill School District community to ensure the dreams of our students come true. It is my privilege to be a Brave.”

The Indian Hill Board of Education will host a reception to celebrate Mr. Koennecke following the Tuesday, January 9, 2024 Board of Education meeting in the new Board of Education offices at 6855 Drake Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45243. All members of the Indian Hill School District are invited to attend.
