Indian Hill High School wins the OTCA Team State Championship!

State Tennis Champions

The Indian Hill School District celebrates the Indian Hill High School tennis team for winning the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association (OTCA) Team State Championship! The team traveled to the College of Wooster to defeat Lexington High School 3-0 in the semi-finals, then defeated Orange High School in Pepper Pike 3-0. The team includes student-athletes: Jack Pollock, RJ Poffenberger, Ethan Camp, Michael Ryu, Neelan Gandhi, Eshaan Gandhi, Senuka Abeysinghe and Julian Netherwood.

“Over the past four years, this Indian Hill tennis team has arguably not only been the most dominant tennis team in school history, but also the most dominant team ever in school history,” said Indian Hill Athletic Director Brian Phelps. “This group of student-athletes are four-time CHL champions, and have been to the OTCA state championship three times out of their four years, winning twice. During that time, they have also produced OHSAA singles and double state champions as well.

“In fact, Indian Hill has matched up with Pepper Pike Orange High School, close to Cleveland, all three times during their state championship run. Orange defeated Indian Hill in 2021, and Indian Hill defeated Orange in 2022 and 2024.”

The Indian Hill tennis coaches include Wade Ward, Michael Piergalski, and Adam Wolter.

“It has been a great ride with this group of boys, coaches, and families,” said Phelps. “They have left their mark on the program that will be hard to match. Indian Hill tennis continues to be a staple of the Indian Hill athletic program, and we thank and appreciate all that this group of players, coaches, and parents have done for the sport of tennis and the Indian Hill community.”
