The Indian Hill School District congratulates the Indian Hill High School (IHHS) Competitive Writing Team for showcasing their exceptional literary talent at the JustWrite Central Ohio Regional Tournament held at Dublin Coffman High School in Columbus on Saturday, February 10. The event saw participation from 10 high schools across the region, bringing together a total of 90 writers competing in two divisions.

In a remarkable achievement, Indian Hill High School’s very own junior, Lillie Waltz, competed in Division 2, which includes juniors and seniors, and emerged victorious, securing first place. This outstanding accomplishment not only highlights Lillie’s exceptional writing skills, but also qualifies her for the prestigious state competition scheduled to take place in May at the University of Findlay.

“Our students have worked incredibly hard to hone their writing skills, and Lillie’s triumph at the regional tournament is a testament to their dedication and talent,” said Indian Hill High School teacher and JustWrite mentor Tom Millard. “We are thrilled to see Lillie represent Indian Hill High School at the state level and have every confidence in her abilities to excel.”

The JustWrite competition offers young writers a platform to showcase their creativity, critical thinking, and writing prowess in a competitive environment. Participants are challenged with writing prompts that require innovative thinking and a strong command of language.
