Indian Hill High School students earn accolades at DECA International Career Development Conference

The Indian Hill School District congratulates the Indian Hill High School (IHHS) DECA team for an outstanding showing at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Anaheim, California during May. Twenty-two Braves competed among 22,000 students from around the world, garnering incredible achievements, including:  
•    Top 25 finalist, Business Services: Brandon Yang 
•    Top Role Play Score, Hospitality Team: Anya Govil & Hollis Chan 
•    Top Test Score, Hotel & Lodging: Jenna O’Driscoll 
•    Top Test Score, Business Finance: Arjun Velayutham 
•    DECA Scholarship: Jackson Kaster

“We are excited to see our students increase their competitive abilities year after year; this is the second time Hollis Chan has been named an ICDC medalist – that is incredible,” said Indian Hill Marketing Instructor Phil Said, who mentors the DECA program in partnership with Great Oaks. “This year, we have six students earning recognition on a global stage – this is how you help develop future global leaders.”

DECA is a career and technical student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs with a career interest in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. DECA enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, apply learning, connect to business, and promote competition. DECA student members leverage their DECA experience to become academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders. DECA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with nearly 250,000 members in 4,000 high school and college chapters in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Germany.
