The Indian Hill School District celebrates the Indian Hill Athletic Department for being awarded the prestigious Bruce Brown Award of Excellence by the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (OIAAA), recognizing the district's commitment to providing an outstanding education-based athletic experience for student-athletes. Indian Hill was one of only 10 schools across Ohio to receive the distinction this year.

"This recognition is a reflection of the outstanding student-athletes, coaches, administrators, parents, and community members who make Indian Hill Athletics special," said Indian Hill Director of Alumni and Activity Advancement Brian Phelps. "We believe athletics are an extension of the classroom, providing opportunities for students to develop leadership, resilience, teamwork, and character. To be recognized by the OIAAA with the Bruce Brown Award of Excellence is an honor and validates the commitment our entire school community has made to providing a first-class educational athletic experience. We are proud of this achievement and will continue striving to set the standard for excellence in education-based athletics."

The Bruce Brown Award of Excellence honors athletic programs that demonstrate the implementation of best practices and nationally accepted standards in educational athletics. The award recognizes excellence in leadership, student-athlete development, program administration, and a commitment to fostering positive educational outcomes through athletics.
The recognition follows a comprehensive application process that evaluated the district's adherence to best practices in athletic program management, student-athlete support systems, professional development, community engagement, and overall commitment to educational athletics.

“This recognition affirms the exceptional work of our athletic department and the positive impact athletics have on our students' overall educational experience,” said Indian Hill Superintendent Dr. Melissa Stewart. “We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, families, and community members whose dedication and support make achievements like this possible.”

Indian Hill Athletics will be formally recognized during the OIAAA State Conference on November 16, 2026, in Columbus.
