Rooted to Grow: The Indian Hill School District Annual Report

By Dr. Melissa Stewart, Superintendent of Indian Hill Schools

When someone asks what I do as superintendent, my answer is simple: I help make our students’ dreams come true.

That is the job of every Indian Hill School District team member – from the classroom leaders who teach and encourage our students, to the staff who support them, to the Board of Education that guides our district. And we are fortunate to operate within a community whose commitment to Indian Hill Schools has endured for generations.

Our Fall 2026 Indian Hill Annual Report tells the story of that shared work. Formerly known as the Quality Profile, this reimagined report offers a look at what distinguishes an Indian Hill education, from academic achievement and leadership to athletics and the arts. It shares the experiences available across our schools, the people and partnerships behind them, and how we steward the community’s investment.

This year’s district theme, Rooted in Excellence, Empowering Growth, captures a belief at the heart of the report: Before anything can grow, it needs strong roots. For our students, those roots include academic rigor, meaningful relationships, and a commitment that guides our work this school year: Every student will feel known, challenged, and supported to demonstrate meaningful academic growth.

We want our community to see how we are putting that commitment into practice. Throughout the year, we will monitor our progress toward our district goals live on our website (About > Our IH Promise: The Indian Hill Strategic Plan), where all Braves can follow along: https://indianhillschools.org/OurIHPromiseTheIndianHillStrategicPlan.aspx.

Transparency means sharing more than a goal or a year-end result. It means showing the work underway, tracking our progress and being open about where we need to keep growing. Our community’s partnership makes Indian Hill stronger, and you deserve a clear view of the work we are doing for students.

As you read the annual report, I hope you see more than accomplishments on a page. I hope you see the care and purpose behind them: a young learner discovering a new interest, a student finding the confidence to lead, and a graduate ready to pursue a dream of their own.
We cannot write our students’ dreams for them. We can create the conditions in which those dreams take root and grow. I invite you to explore this year’s annual report, follow our progress, and join us in the work ahead.

Privileged to make students’ dreams come true,

Melissa
