Indian Hill High School Counseling Department brings home an OSCAR!

The spotlight is on the Indian Hill High School (IHHS) Counseling Department; the team just earned an OSCAR from the Ohio School Counselor Association (OSCA)! The Ohio School Counselor Accountability Report – or OSCAR – is the highest level of recognition for achievement in school counseling programs within Ohio.

“We know we have shining stars within our Indian Hill High School Counseling Department, and we are incredibly proud to give the team a much-deserved round of applause for this hard-earned recognition,” said IHHS Principal Jeff Damadeo.

“This is the result of the work that we’ve been doing for many years,” said Lindsay Kearns, IHHS counselor. “The designation from OSCA reaffirms that we are moving in the right direction toward enhancing our comprehensive school counseling program.”

“This is part of our journey as a team – not a final destination,” added IHHS Counselor Nollis Cottrell. “We will continue being innovative with our program to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all of our students in the areas of academic, social/emotional, and college/career counseling.”

“To be Brave means to have courage, to experience discomfort, and to move toward your true passion and calling in life,” said IHHS Counselor Donita Jackson. “As a department, our mission is to encourage students to be Brave and move towards their futures with confidence.”

The team will be formally recognized in Columbus during the All Ohio Counselor Conference reception on Thursday, November 8.
