A global learning celebration
IHESExploring far off lands and understanding other cultures isn’t limited to boarding a plane. Within the Indian Hill School District, global learning is something we share as part of our unparalleled academic experience. While our annual Global Cultural Week (January 25 through January 29) will look much different than years past due to COVID-19 safety protocols – we will celebrate.

This week happens in partnership with our Indian Hill Global Group – a parent-based group supported by the Indian Hill PTO. Braves enjoy a week-long cultural learning adventure with exposure to more than 40 different nationalities represented within our District. This is the real heart of our Global Competence goal within our Strategic Plan for Transformational Excellence – preparing our students to understand and prosper in a diverse global community to successfully lead, engage, and serve others.

Again, while we must put safety first, our District will honor the 2020-2021 Global Cultural Week through these activities:

Indian Hill High School (IHHS)
IHHS working in collaboration with the Indian Hill Global Group will host a TikTok Global Dance competition. In addition, IHHS will use QR codes posted throughout the building to allow students to explore information about different cultures virtually.

Indian Hill Middle School (IHMS)
IHMS will spend each morning with students reading the quote of the day in the language spoken at home. Morning music will be representative of the many nations that IHMS students/families are from. Students will also have access to a special virtual international presentation.

Indian Hill Elementary School (IHES)
IHES Braves will experience a virtual student performance of "We are the World" performed in seven different languages and speak about Global Week during daily morning announcements. IHES will also incorporate greetings from around the world each day. A world map will be on display with the identifying locations around the world IHES families represent. During the month of January, IHES introduced songs and facts about various countries that represent the student population.

Indian Hill Primary School (IHPS)
For our youngest Braves at IHPS, daily announcements will include facts about countries our students represent, and students will be introduced to greetings from around the world. A world map will be on display, and the Indian Hill Global Group will pin the locations around the world our families represent.

Our Indian Hill Global Group also developed videos for students to access online to share stories across the District about their culture. This is one more way for all of our students to celebrate this week in a virtual setting. As always, we thank our parents who consistently help us to make this global educational adventure possible for all of our students. We appreciate your support in helping us create a learning experience that is world-class for all our students.

In service to our children,
