Indian Hill names new leader of Indian Hill Middle School
The Indian Hill School District is excited to announce Lauren Gentene as the new building principal for Indian Hill Middle School. Gentene, who has served students as the head principal of Mason Middle School since 2018 and worked in administration at Mason Middle School since 2015, joins the Brave Family for the 2022-2023 school year.
“Ms. Gentene brings exceptional experience to the Indian Hill School District as a seasoned instructional leader and head principal who managed a staff transition during a facility construction project while serving the Mason School District,” said Indian Hill CEO/Superintendent Kirk Koennecke. “We have confidence Ms. Gentene will lead a smooth transition for our Indian Hill Middle School families and staff members as we bring our sixth, seventh, and eighth grade campus back to their new building.”
Prior to her tenure as an administrator at Mason Schools, Gentene served students as a teacher for five years. She began her teaching experience at Mason High School (2010-2014) before serving students as a teacher at Indian Hill High School in 2014, before returning to Mason to join the administrative team.
“I am delighted and humbled to join the world-class faculty and staff serving the students and families at Indian Hill Middle School,” said Gentene. “The Indian Hill School District is a destination for me professionally, and it is difficult to contain the excitement I feel about the opportunities in store for our students and staff as we open a new state-of-art facility that will serve generations to come. I can’t wait to see all the smiles on the faces of our students when we welcome our Braves back this fall.”
Gentene earned her Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University (2010); her Master of Arts from Xavier University (2014); she is working towards her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership currently at Miami University. Gentene’s contract will be on the agenda for Board of Education approval during a special meeting scheduled for July 18, 2022. She replaces former IHMS Principal Jennifer Ulland, who announced in the spring she planned to transition back to the classroom in a teaching role.
