IHMS Certamen Team

The Indian Hill School District congratulates the Indian Hill Middle School Certamen Team for placing both first and third in the Southwest Ohio finals on Saturday, January 28 at Seven Hills.  Competitors included students Arpad Lallement, Michael Miller, Victor Zhang, Cole Compton, Grant Gibson, and Eric Liu.

“Our team has been working before school every week since the beginning of the year to prepare for this event,” said Indian Hill Middle School Latin teacher Samantha Frodge. “We are incredibly proud of all they achieved.”

Certamen, a quiz bowl style buzz-in game that focuses on Latin and Classical Civilization, has been a tradition among Latin clubs across the nation for decades. In Ohio, the season runs from August to March ending in a state-wide competition.

The state competition, held at the Ohio Junior Classical League Competition, is March 10-12 in Columbus, Ohio.
