Indian Hill High School students make history and headlines at State DECA!

William Dalton

The Indian Hill School District congratulates the 59 Indian Hill High School (IHHS) marketing students who competed at the DECA State Competition on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 in Columbus. Braves competed against approximately 2,000 students from across Ohio; 39 IHHS students made it to state finals in their respective events.

IHHS students William Dalton, Pranav Rastogi, Nina Foad, and Skyler Robinson repeated as State Champions in their events. And senior William Dalton made IHHS history, completing his tenure as a DECA state officer, the first in the history of the high school to be elected to state office. While Dalton completed his tenure, IHHS had two newly appointed state officers, Jackson Kaster and Sophia Chen. Kaster and Chen additionally finished first in their Entrepreneurship Team event.

“We are so proud of how our students performed during the State DECA Competition, and we congratulate all of our students for the time, effort, and energy they invested,” said Indian Hill High School Teacher Phil Said, who helps manage the marketing program in partnership with Great Oaks and serves as a DECA mentor. “While the students had success, it was their overall behavior that was rewarding. We are proud of how well our students supported one another and how they conducted themselves during the trip. True professionals!”
