Indian Hill High School Esports Team heads to STATE in debut year!

IHHS Esports is headed to state

The Indian Hill School District congratulates Indian Hill High School’s Varsity Valorant Esports Team for winning the regional competition on May 14 at Miami University. The team will now advance to the state competition on June 18 at the University of Akron. Team members include students Daniel Chen, Mitch Ford, Anhad Gill, Ryan Hassett, Jack Moore, and Alex Pheng.

“From week one, it was clear that our Varsity Valorant team was special,” said Indian Hill High School teacher and team mentor Daniel Boyer. “The team, led by our captain, Daniel Chen, showed extreme dedication to the sport. Prior to a match, they would research the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses and conduct scrimmages outside of school. They have worked very hard to get to this point and are excited to test themselves against some of the best teams in the state of Ohio.”

This is the debut year for the Indian Hill High School Esports program, which was supported by the Indian Hill Foundation.

“The Indian Hill Foundation made this opportunity happen for our students,” said Boyer. “They listened to a student-generated idea which was supported by school staff and then provided the needed funding. The Indian Hill Esports program allows our students to represent their school and develop leadership and teamwork skills, and it could not have been possible without the Foundation’s generous support.”
