The Indian Hill School District congratulates students in the Indian Hill Robotics Club for earning a $2,500 robotics grant from P&G. Funds will benefit the robotics program for the new Indian Hill Middle School sixth-grade team, allowing members to expand their ability to compete.

“The P&G grant is a huge boost to our robotics program,” said teacher Myrtis Smith who mentors the Indian Hill High School Robotics Club. “The robots that students are building today are of a higher quality with more sophisticated components than what we created three or four years ago. This grant helps us to bring that to all three grades of Indian Hill Middle School.”

“Indian Hill Middle School robotics interest has grown significantly over the last couple of years,” said teacher Vic Schultz who mentors the Indian Hill Middle School students. “Most of the reason for this is because of Ms. Smith's high school students sharing their expertise.”

Robotics Club member and seventh-grade student Grant Gibson said, “I like that it is not something that is being graded, so you get to experiment and try out different things.”

“When students are able to participate in robotics they get to see STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) in action,” said Smith. “There is so much energy and enthusiasm in Mr. Schultz's classroom. It has been incredible to watch the middle school program grow.”

The Indian Hill Robotics Club is one of more than 140 K-12 robotics teams in the area benefiting from P&G’s robotics grant program.
