The Indian Hill School District celebrates the accomplishment of four Indian Hill High School (IHHS) seniors who graduated from the inaugural GE Next Engineers Academy class in a ceremony at the University of Cincinnati on May 9. Indian Hill High School students included Isabelle Tindale, who will attend Purdue University, Arjun Verma, who will attend the University of Pennsylvania, Alex Tran, who will attend Purdue University, and Nathan Padhy who will attend Florida State University. All four plan on pursuing degrees in engineering.
“We are proud to call our Niche Ohio No. 1 ranked high school a nationally recognized Project Lead the Way school, an AASA and JASON Learning nationally STEM designated school, an Ohio STEM Learning Network STEM designated school – but even that is not enough,” said Indian Hill High School Principal Jeff Damadeo. “This is an incredible example of Indian Hill High School students working with a corporation to extend their student experience well beyond the classroom. This is the future for our students as we continue to develop an always-evolving and even more robust program. Congratulations to these outstanding Braves!”
According to a release from GE, the Next Engineers: Engineering Academy is a transformative learning experience designed for students aged 15 to 18. Through a rigorous curriculum, immersive design challenges, and career coaching, participants learn to think and act like engineers. The program is supported by local partners, like the University of Cincinnati, to equip youth with the skills they need to build an engineering identity and pursue successful careers in engineering fields. A total of 45 students in the local Cincinnati area graduated from the program that the GE Foundation established in 2021.
