Excellence matters to the Indian Hill PTO. During the 2023-2024 school year, the Indian Hill PTO organization donated $171,933 to our District. The PTO organization supports our students in a variety of ways.
It is my pleasure to introduce to you the 2024-2025 Indian Hill PTO president, Mandy Longbottom:
Meet Mandy Longbottom
2024-2025 Indian Hill PTO President
Our family of four moved to the Indian Hill School District 14 years ago, just as our son, Hayden, was preparing to start kindergarten. Now, it’s hard to believe he’s begun his freshman year in college, while our daughter, Elyse, is a junior in high school.
Throughout the years, I have had the privilege of serving in roles like Room Parent, Playground Supervisor, and PTO Director, and chairing events such as Spotlight and the Fifth Grade Celebration. Yet, what has mattered most to me is the chance to build cherished relationships with teachers, staff, and my children’s classmates through countless shared experiences in our schools. I treasure memories of cooking in Mrs. Speno’s kindergarten class, wiping down tables with Mr. Marshall between lunches, and sitting outside Rosa Jason’s classroom while preparing materials and listening to her lessons. Moments like the Halloween costume parades, early morning choir practices with Alice Bohn, and listening to Mrs. Jones read during library duty are some of my favorites. As my children have grown, my ways of volunteering have naturally evolved, but Indian Hill has consistently offered meaningful ways to connect with students and teachers. Highlights include joining the stage with Canned Goodness (the Indian Hill staff band) and designing wild Seussical hair for the middle school musical. Our family has truly loved being a part of this school district, and we feel blessed to have made so many special memories and connections.
The Indian Hill PTO is an organization dedicated to providing educational and enrichment opportunities for our children, supporting our teachers and staff, and fostering communication between parents and school administration. Our activities range from field trips, author visits, guest speakers, and assemblies, to programs like Spring Fling, International Fair, Pioneer Days, the Spotlight talent show, Holiday Market, COSI Experience, Teacher and Staff Appreciation, Party in the Middle, After Prom, and Senior Week. Beyond funding, we organize volunteers for these programs, strengthening our school community and enriching the educational experience for all.
Over the years, my involvement with the PTO has introduced me to so many inspiring, dedicated, and passionate parents, teachers, and staff members. It is a privilege to work alongside such an incredible board, all of whom dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to our children’s well-being. I am honored to lead this important organization.
A few years ago, while battling a life-threatening illness, I felt firsthand what it means to be part of the Brave family. At the time of my cancer diagnosis, both of our children were in elementary school. The support, care, and kindness we received from the school and the broader community were beyond anything I’d ever experienced. For that, I am deeply grateful to be a Brave.
To me, the Indian Hill Promise means that our school will always prioritize the needs of our children. I’m proud to belong to a community that rallies together in the face of challenges, finding creative solutions to ensure our students receive the best in education and life experiences.
