As the Niche ranked number one high school in the state of Ohio, Indian Hill High School provides a challenging curriculum to push students to be the best they possibly can be. Indian Hill High School offers 29 Advanced Placement level courses including AP Capstone Seminar and Research. Within the past few years, they have started to incorporate College Credit Plus (CCP) classes into our course offerings starting with CCP Engineering and recently adding CCP Strategic Entrepreneurship.

Susan Schonauer, teacher of CCP Entrepreneurship shares, “This is the first year CCP Entrepreneurship is offered at Indian Hill, in cooperation with Great Oaks. It is paced as a college course would be and is one semester, focusing on creating a business with a business plan as the outcome.

“We are all learning as we go as to the topic depth and working with an online textbook. I am very proud of the 18 students in the class as they are doing high-level work at a very quick pace. And the knowledge of entrepreneurship will benefit them in any career field.”

As a senior at Indian Hill High School, I have had the privilege of taking this new course addition myself, and I know it will benefit me greatly as I have learned what goes into being an entrepreneur. While meticulous, this course has set me up for success and provided me with crucial knowledge to help my career.

CCP Engineering is a great opportunity to learn how engineering is applied to the real world. Indian Hill Junior Myles Paul explains, “We had a challenging application process, but once accepted, we had extra rigorous assignments to further our engineering knowledge. At the end of the course, we had a final essay to wrap up what we learned and what it means to be an engineer. I recommend other aspiring engineers to take this course as it helped prepare me for my future.”

Indian Hill High School educator Jonathon Pepper, who teaches this course said, “CCP is a great way to ensure the students get college credit while still being able to cover all the material in my class. Two of the engineering courses directly relate to college credit courses and we are working on getting a third course approved, which will give the students a solid step up among their peers when they become college students.”
