IH Logo
Per the announcement today (Thursday, March 12) by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, giving guidance that all K-12 schools within Ohio will be closed by the end of the school day on March 16 - the Indian Hill School District is announcing all buildings will be closed effective Friday, March 13 through April 3.  We will use Friday, March 13 as the day to practice our online learning system with students as communicated in previous communications. Students will not report to school buildings that day, but will participate in online learning. As a District we wanted to share this information as quickly as possible after receiving closure information from Governor DeWine. We are currently investigating the latest decree, and will communicate soon about future plans regarding online learning opportunities.

Additionally, we will be suspending all District activities, including all athletic activities, during this time, effective Friday, March 13. Please note: This includes all campus facilities – including all athletic fields.

We will continue to follow the situation, take guidance from Governor DeWine, and provide any updates to you that impact our District.

Online learning:
Friday, March 13 the Indian Hill School District will proceed with this plan:

• Students will not come to buildings this day, but will receive instruction from teachers online. Instructions for online access, and contacts are contained in the following resources by building:

o Indian Hill Primary School
o Indian Hill Elementary School
o Indian Hill Middle School
o Indian Hill High School

• Staff members will report to work, and the faculty will be at school and available to answer any questions about the online learning module presented.

We understand that students may want to return to buildings to pick up supplies; we ask you to contact building secretaries Friday morning to make arrangements. This will be your student’s only opportunity to visit the schools to pick up supplies.

We want to reinforce that the safety and security of our students and staff are always of paramount importance to our Board of Education and our administrative team. We appreciate your understanding as we all work to secure the safety of our students, our staff, and our community, and we will continue to provide you updates as needed.

In service to our children,
Kirk Koennecke
Superintendent
Indian Hill School District
