Indian Hill High School students achieve perfect score on ACT

IHHS students earned perfect ACT score

Indian Hill High School (IHHS) congratulates four students who achieved a perfect score on the ACT. IHHS seniors Bethany Ison, Cooper Pierce, Trey Skidmore, and IHHS junior Jonah Sorscher each scored a 36 on the ACT.

“This is an incredible academic accomplishment for each of these students, and we are so proud,” said IHHS Principal Jeff Damadeo. “This is a moment for us to celebrate as a Brave family – as this was an academic achievement formed through a collective journey for our students, their families, and our educators.”

In October, Indian Hill High School celebrated earning a 27.0 on the 2018 ACT composite score for the District – that score marked an all-time high in the District’s recorded history.

“Unparalleled opportunities – that is what we promise to offer within the Indian Hill School District in academics, arts, and athletics,” said Indian Hill Superintendent Dr. Mark Miles. “This achievement is a reflection of the extraordinary work of these amazing students and their collaboration with staff who helped them grow from the Primary School, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School to fulfill that promise. We will continue to be true to our mission of providing exceptional educational services to ensure the intellectual development, personal growth, and social responsibility of each student.”

The ACT consists of curriculum-based tests of educational development in English, mathematics, reading, and science designed to measure the skills needed for success in first-year college coursework. ACT research has shown that it is the rigor of coursework – rather than simply the number of core courses – that has the greatest impact on ACT performance and college readiness. The state average ACT composite score for 2018 was 20.3.
