Indian Hill School District issues guidance on operations during closure

Our highest priority at the Indian Hill School District is the safety and health of our students and staff. We are working with our area partners to ensure an effective transition to the new state decree closing schools. Controlling the outbreak of the virus is extremely important to the health and safety of all Ohioans.

Therefore, we are taking measures to ensure social distancing occurs on and around our campus during the stated dates of March 13 through April 3. We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and cooperation during this time of transition.

Following the close of business Friday, March 13:

• Campus will be and remain closed through April 5.
• During this time, access to all facilities, including athletic fields, will be restricted for staff, students, parents, and community members.
• Staff members will not be reporting to work on campus the week of March 16-30, and students are not expected to engage in online learning during that time. Students should be ready to engage in online learning beginning March 31.
• Only a select number of administrative and operational staff members will be allowed access to our facilities next week.

All requests to visit campus should be made ahead of time via phone: (513) 272-4500. Phone services will continue during business hours, with the exception of our original Spring Break week (March 21-30). While there may be a short time lapse for some return emails and/or calls during the closure of campus, our staff will do their best to be responsive to your questions and needs.

The District Office will be the only access point for guests who will be escorted by an administrator to the building they would like to enter, with the exception of vendor deliveries arranged by a prior notification. No guests may enter campus buildings, including athletic facilities, without expressed permission from a building administrator, or the Superintendent of Schools.

Signs will be posted that direct guests to entry points. Our partners in safety, the Indian Hill Rangers, will continue to help monitor our campus during this time.

Students and parents can reach teachers, secretaries, counselors, and administrators during work hours beginning March 31 as distance learning resumes. We will issue updated guidance and directions from staff prior to the resumption of distance learning.

We appreciate all of our Brave students, staff, and families for their patience and consideration of these circumstances. We will provide regular updates.

In service to our children,
Kirk Koennecke
Superintendent
Indian Hill School District
