Greenacres Foundation creates opportunities for Braves

Greenacres Donation to IHHS

It is not his typical work environment.

During most days, Dr. Carter Randolph is helping to manage the 600 acres of preserved forests and creeks that make up Greenacres Farm. As the president of the Greenacres Foundation, an education-based non-profit located within Indian Hill, Dr. Randolph works to preserve tradition. It was a different mission Wednesday, March 6, when Dr. Randolph stepped into the high-tech Indian Hill Television Network (IHTN) studio to greet his former teacher and current executive producer of Braves Beat Dennis Dupps. Within a green bag decorated with the Greenacres logo, Dr. Randolph personally delivered a special treat for students that was a long way from the farm.

“The gift is a PTZ Robotic Camera and accessories for use in Braves Beat and IHTN productions,” explained Dupps as he examined the new technology. “This will allow us to utilize a camera within our Braves Beat productions remotely. We are extremely excited about the production possibilities this technology creates.”

The farm/studio partnership actually began during the 2017-2018 school year when two Indian Hill High School students – Owen Norwell and Lena Bruscato – produced a documentary at Greenacres on a farm restoration project. That documentary is now up for two awards. Greenacres, so impressed with the ability of the students, wanted to show their appreciation.

“Mr. Dupps has been a leader in education for many years and his dedication to students and new technology is simply amazing,” said Greenacres Foundation President Dr. Carter Randolph. “The student video was of professional quality, and Greenacres wanted to recognize that quality by providing something that could make the Indian Hill Technology Department stronger. We are very happy to provide this state-of-the-art camera and look forward to future video joint ventures with IHTN. We are very fortunate to have such a great relationship with Indian Hill Schools, students, and teachers like Mr. Dupps.”

“Greenacres has now created two significant opportunities for our Braves – first, the documentary storytelling, and now the addition of the new technology,” said Dupps. “What an amazing partnership we have developed; we sincerely appreciate everything they have done for our students.”
