Braves partner with nonprofit for real-world marketing experience

IHHS Brewhaus Bakery Project

The “teacher” was a Cincinnati nonprofit organization. The students – Indian Hill High School (IHHS) seniors – worked just like real-world marketing professionals on the “lesson” to develop a comprehensive marketing plan. The IHHS senior marketing class, a Great Oaks Satellite Program, paired with Brewhaus Bakery to research ways to expand their marketing and raise awareness of their business and purpose. The nonprofit bakery handcrafts and sells dog treats with natural wholesome, nutritious ingredients; the Brewhaus focus is to provide job training to young adults with disabilities.

"Working on this project was a unique opportunity to partner with a small, local business and to work together to develop marketing strategies they can use to improve their business and
brand awareness," said IHHS senior Lexi Magenheim, who worked on the project.

“This project-based learning model was the perfect chance for our students to put what they have learned in class to practice,” said IHHS teacher Susan Schonauer. “We were excited to develop this business partnership to enhance the educational experience for our students.”
