Excellence Matters – Meet IH Boosters President Peter Klekamp

Excellence matters within the Indian Hill School District; our District is fortunate to have the support of a community that understands and appreciates our vision of Enduring Excellence in Learning, Leadership, Innovation, and Service. It is a community where leaders volunteer to invest their own time and talent to help us fulfill the #IHPromise of making each student’s dream come true.

This month, we will begin to meet some of these game-changers in a new Excellence Matters series – to introduce you to the leadership within our support organizations.

Helping us create unparalleled opportunities for our students in all extracurricular activities is central to the mission of the Indian Hill Boosters, and this year, the leader of that school support organization is no stranger to the work it takes to leave a legacy for the District. I first had the pleasure of meeting Peter Klekamp as part of our District’s first private-public funded building project, Home of the Braves, in his work as a co-chairperson of the Indian Hill Foundation committee. Now, I have the privilege of working with Mr. Klekamp in his 2019-2020 school year role as president of the Indian Hill Boosters.

In his own words, read what it means to Mr. Klekamp to be a Brave. Thank you, Mr. Klekamp, for all you and the entire Indian Hill Boosters organization do for our students, our community, and our staff.

In service to our children,

Peter Klekamp
President, Indian Hill Boosters

I have been a Brave for 44 years, and during that time my wife, Laura, and I have had two children graduate from Indian Hill High School – Charlie (Class of 2017) and Davis (Class of 2018). Our son, Will, is in his junior year at Indian Hill High School, and our daughters, Maggie and Molly, are in seventh grade at Cincinnati Country Day School. I’m in the business of real estate through my companies PLK Communities, LLC and Klekamp & Company Paving.

To me, being a Brave encompasses an excellent educational experience, quality community events, and programs for arts and athletics that support student development outside the academic experience. That is why I am an active participant in our Indian Hill Boosters.

The Indian Hill Boosters Association is parent-led and one of the only groups of its kind in this area that supports athletics and fine arts as well as other extracurricular activities in our district. Our organization raises money through memberships, the Bravesline Shop, the Antiques Fair, Booster cookouts, and sponsorship. By joining the Boosters, you are enabling the invaluable extra-curricular activities and opportunities be made available to all students at every school within the Indian Hill School District. Last year, Boosters donated more than $79,000 to support our students.
