2018-2019 Facilities Assessment History

Dr. Eddie Hooker with Steering Committee
April 2019 Update

During the spring of 2019, the District formed a Steering Committee of the Facilities Assessment Task Force. This committee will guide the recommendations for capital improvements based on regular meetings through June 4, 2019, and members will collaborate with a Finance Committee to identify funding options (June/August). The goal is to present District capital improvement scenarios to the Board of Education in the fall of 2019 for consideration. Board of Education Operations Committee Member Dr. Eddie Hooker took time to meet with Steering Committee members during April to share the desired outcome of the work.
During April, May, and June of 2019 the Steering Committee of the Facilities Assessment Task Force will work toward creating two to four District capital improvement scenarios for the consideration of the Board of Education. Please see the details within the link.
March 2019 Update

The District continues to work on operational and facilities needs, and is in the process of forming a Finance Committee and establishing a Facilities Steering Committee to continue the work that was started by our Facilities Assessment Task Force. As those two committees begin to meet this spring, the District will continue to provide updates.

October 2018 Facilities Assessment Task Force teams tour buildings

These sessions involved the large Facilities Assessment Task Force dividing into smaller teams. The sessions took place at the specific facility being assessed by that team, and began with a tour of the facility led by the design team and school administration. Team members had a chance to share their insights about the facility and discuss potential improvement opportunities.
September 2018 Indian Hill School District engages community about facilities needs
All District residents are invited to participate in newly formed Facilities Assessment Task Force

The Indian Hill School District put out the call for help, and the community responded. The District hosted a community meeting Monday, Sept. 24, at the Indian Hill High School Cafeteria to present an overview of facility needs and finances to a crowd of dozens. Now, those community members have joined the District in forming the Facilities Assessment Task Force.

The Facilities Assessment Task Force will meet in small teams during October and November to tour District buildings; participants will deliver recommendations to the Indian Hill Board of Education in the near future. The community meeting followed the District’s publication of a debut Financial Prospectus, which was mailed to all residents within the Indian Hill Exempted Village School District in August.

Those wishing to participate in the process can join at any time. Those residents interested in getting involved are asked to email [email protected].

If you were unable to attend the September 24 Community Meeting, you can watch a video series recap of the presentation here:
